Graduation Day.
Today, May 24, 2012, as I graduate from Saint Joseph High School, I realize how much I’ve grown as an individual; how much 4 years at St. Joe’s has truly changed who I am. I’ve become more independent, more responsible, smarter, a better leader and a better student. I’ve formed friendships with people I never thought i would have and that I honestly believe will last a life time. I’ve gotten to know very different kinds of people and have REAL, genuine conversations with them. I’ve seen champions rise. I’ve seen students fail. I’ve seen all that I could see. I’ve heard all that I could hear. And I’VE BELIEVED.
But today’s not just about me and what I’ve experienced. It’s also about my fellow classmates, and how we’ve made it through 4 rigorous years…together. Yeah, we go to an all guy school. Call us gay/fags/homos/ whatever you want, but St Joe’s is more than just an all-boys high school; it’s a family…a brotherhood. The things we’ve experienced in our daily St. Joe’s life, I know for a fact you wont see at your high school. It’s more than just going to class with each other, eating lunch and cracking jokes, and fooling around and making fun of teachers in class. Heck, it’s the fucking St. Joe’s Way. Even though it’s the end, no matter what we always got each other’s backs. Always had and always will. Although we all don’t know where we’ll be in ten or twenty years, we’ll ALWAYS know where we came from, and that’s what’ll get us through life.
I know for a fact that there’s some St. Joe’s kids who won’t agree with me. Trust me, having to go to school everyday, getting in trouble for stupid shit, hearing the gayest bullshit from teachers, and just being around some people you fucking hate, I probably hated St. Joe’s as much as you did..maybe even more? But as I sit here writing this on Graduation Day, all the negative things I’ve ever said about the school, every single status/tweet/post I’ve ever made against St. Joe’s…seems stupid. Because in the end, it’s these negative things that shapes who you are. It gives you the experience you’ll probably never get from anywhere else. At the end of today, it won’t be about how many times I’ve fallen asleep in classes, or how many tests I’ve failed, or how many times I got in trouble for dress code… It’ll be about how I spent the past 4 years with the Class of 2012, and how I formed life-long friendships, and how I made memories that’ll be with me till the day I die. If you’re reading this, and you still disagree with me, then i KNOW for a fact that you wasted your 4 years in high school. I KNOW you didn’t take advantage of what St. Joe’s had to offer you. I KNOW that one day you’ll realize you missed the fuck out on probably 4 of the easiest/greatest years of your life. Call me gay for writing this post but whatever, I’m not ashamed to say I had an overall great fucking time at St. Joe’s.
So, Congratulations to the St. Joseph High School Class of 2012. Deuces and good luck to the kid’s that I’ll never see or talk to again. And to my brothers that’ll be with me till the end,WE’RE JUST FUCKING GETTING STARTED..WE’RE OUT.
